You have chosen a competitive field. Even your grandma knows that.
But the challenge of an acting career doesn’t have to beat YOU.
You have what it takes. You just need to be taking the right steps at the right times.
Here are three imperative moves toward success as an actor.
#1 LIVE IN THE RIGHT PLACE
This is a no-brainer, right? For my first few years of being an actor, I commuted from Orange County. Big mistake. Move to where it’s happening. LA. New York City. Surround yourself with like minded people. Bask in the energy of the Entertainment World all around you.
#2 BE IN THE RIGHT ACTING CLASS
This is important for a multitude of reasons. First of all, it keeps you in shape as an actor. Secondly, if you’re in the right class, the teacher makes you feel like you want to go out and take the acting world by storm. Thirdly, when you’re working alongside other actors in a thriving class, you can then create and produce with those other actors.
#3 EMBRACE CONSISTENCY
This is a big one. Most of us tend to work in spurts – I know I do. Try to set aside a certain amount of time -five days a week – to devote to your career. That amount of time can be 10 minutes or 3 hours. The length of time doesn’t matter as much as being CONSISTENT. The consistency leads to momentum, which leads to action, which leads to success!
You got this.
